Rain Barrel Workshop on April 26, 11 AM & April 27, 1 PM. Pre-registration is required to buy a barrel. Please send $17.00 per barrel (max 2 barrels) by deadline. USF Botanical Gardens Fall Events-- 15th Annual Spring Plant Festival, April 12 & 13 Still the largest plant festival in the Tampa Bay area! Visit our own Plant Shop and Book Store plus over 60 vendors offering a huge variety of plants, art, food and drinks! $3 admission for non-members. 2nd Annual Orchid Fantasy, May 10 & 11--Just in time for Mother's Day! These classes are offered either as a free service or with a nominal fee to the students, faculty and staff of USF and as an outreach to members of the surrounding community. Entertaining with Herbs-April 19 10 am-11:15 am. Learn how to create centerpieces, napkin rings, and other dress up items with herbs straight from your garden! Herbalist Maryon Marsh gives expert tips on entertaining with herbs. USFBG members $3; non-members $5. Introductory Bonsai-April 19, 1-3 pm. Learn the basics of this ancient art form from the Hukyu Bonsai Society of Tampa. This workshop is great for anyone interested in getting started. The cost, $15, includes a pot, soil, tree and basic tools. Pre-registration is required! Call 813-974-2329. Heliconias and Ornamental Bananas-April 26 10 am-11:15 am. This may seem like a strange combination, but these plants actually have much the same care and growing requirements. Mac the Gardener, will explain how to care for and use these plants in the landscape. You might even find out which ornamental bananas have edible fruit. USFBG members $3; non-members $5. |
